Human-Machine Interface (HMI)

Description

An HMI (Human-Machine Interface) is a user interface device that allows operators to monitor and interact with machines, processes, or entire control systems. It typically consists of a touchscreen panel or display unit that connects to a PLC, DCS (Distributed Control System), or other automation controllers.

HMIs display live data such as temperatures, pressures, alarms, motor status, flow rates, and allow operators to input setpoints, start/stop equipment, or change process variables. They are essential in industrial automation, HVAC control, building management systems, and production lines.

HMIs can be basic LED/LCD panels or advanced graphic terminals with high-resolution color displays and internet connectivity.
